About the Pavillon de l’Arsenal

The Pavillon de l’Arsenal is a dynamic platform dedicated to all urban disciplines. Focused on the making of the metropolis and a longstanding advocate for emerging architectural practices, Paris and Greater Paris’ centre for architecture and urbanism serves as a free and accessible space for exchange, learning, and public engagement. As a producer of exhibitions, publisher of books and digital content, and organizer of public debates, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal documents, showcases, and promotes the individuals and ideas shaping the city.

Since January 2025, and for the first time since its creation in 1989, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal has been operating away from its historic home at 21 boulevard Morland, Paris 4th arrondissement, due to a major renovation project. Led by DATA Architectes, the renovation is a comprehensive bioclimatic adaptation project that will improve accessibility and visitor experience, particularly for people with disabilities.

During this period, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal is presenting exhibitions across various locations throughout Greater Paris, using the opportunity to reach new audiences, experiment with new formats, and further expand its metropolitan presence.

FAIRE, the annual call for projects dedicated to design and urban, architectural, and landscape innovation, supports and funds around ten multidisciplinary teams each year. Within this new metropolitan framework, FAIRE continues to position itself as a catalyst for engaged urban research by: addressing the climate challenges of today and tomorrow; encouraging participatory, social, and community-oriented approaches; promoting research and innovation at the metropolitan scale.
